Meet the Founder of The Co-Living Matrix: Amber's Story
Meet the Founder
Hi, I'm Amber, founder of The Co-Living Matrix.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about our mission.
My passion has always been helping families overcome life's most difficult barriers. I earned my Bachelor of Social Work from Maryville University of St. Louis, where I also completed coursework in civil procedure, criminal procedure, and juvenile delinquency. Those experiences gave me a strong understanding of how legal systems and life circumstances can shape the futures of children and families.
After graduation, I continued my education at Johns Hopkins University in business studies. While taking a Healthcare Administrative Law course, I realized my true calling wasn't simply understanding how organizations operate—it was learning how the law affects people's lives. That realization led me to pursue law school, where I continue expanding my knowledge of the legal system and advocacy. I am an active member of the ABAI and Juvenile Justice Reform and frequently get invited to speak on documentaries about juvenile justice, child protection services, family court issues and medical system child trafficking. Keep your eyes peeled for "Fractured Families" being released in Fall 2026 by Director Bryan Bowermaster.
Through my education and professional experience as a forensic social worker, I've gained a deep understanding of how family courts, child welfare systems, and juvenile courts operate. More importantly, I've seen how barriers like financial hardship, limited support systems, and housing instability can dramatically impact families.
Those experiences inspired me to create The Co-Living Matrix.
Why The Co-Living Matrix Exists
Housing costs continue to rise while many families struggle to keep pace. For single mothers, one unexpected expense, a sick child, or a missed day of work can create enormous financial pressure.
I believe we need to rethink what support looks like.
For many years, society has conditioned us to believe that the only person we should share a home with is a romantic partner. But what if your greatest source of support isn't a partner at all?
What if it's another mother who understands exactly what you're going through?
Imagine having someone who can help:
- Split rent and utility costs
- Share grocery expenses
- Offer support when one of the children is sick
- Help with school pickups or childcare when schedules become overwhelming
- Build a genuine friendship rooted in shared experiences
Sometimes, the strongest communities are built by women helping other women.
Our Mission
The Co-Living Matrix was created to remove one of the greatest barriers many families face—housing instability.
Our goal is to help women connect with affordable rental opportunities, compatible roommates, and a supportive community that makes independent living more attainable.
Every new member strengthens that community.
Whether you're looking for a roommate, searching for affordable housing, or simply hoping to connect with women who understand your journey, I'm grateful you're here.
Thank you for trusting The Co-Living Matrix.
Together, we can help build stronger futures—one home, one connection, and one family at a time.
